A Quest for Flavor
Our journey began with a love of slow-smoked BBQ. After spending some time testing and perfecting recipes, we competed in WNY BBQ Competitions sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. After winning several awards, we were ready to share our passion with our community.
Lilly Belle Meads, in Lancaster, asked us to provide food for their tasting room. In 2018, we won the Mayor’s Choice Trophy for our Berry & Honey Meatballs at the Taste of Lancaster!
The next step for our business would be BBQ Catering. The business was taking off with Stingers catering weddings, tailgate parties and corporate functions. We were on our way when 2020 came and the global pandemic shut down everything.
With no catering jobs on the horizon and the uncertainty of what the future held, we decided we needed a new way to share our passion with the world. With restaurants closed or limited capacity, more people were cooking at home. Why not let them cook with the carefully crafted flavors of Stingers on their own? We had a few staples that worked so well for BBQ, customers kept asking for more! We studied spices and how they flavor all the dishes we loved to make. With that, Stingers BBQ Rubs & Seasonings was born.
